Havering Council ignoring Rubbish in Rainham Village
With a year-long lockdown, you would expect nature to be able to thrive due to the lack of human contact with nature.
However, for the stream behind Rainham Village, this is not the case. From smashed glass to dumped clothes and shopping trolleys in the water this area is becoming increasingly polluted. Walking around the village you become shocked to see glass and rubbish scattered everywhere including by the village school and recreational field.
A member of my household was surprised to receive a letter from the council this week telling them that they had to shield due to them being clinically vulnerable. They had already been made aware of this having had the NHS write to them recently. I was shocked to see that the council letter was signed from the leader of the council, Damian White.
Liberal Democrats have tabled another amendment to the Fire Safety Bill which will be debated when the bill reaches the House of Lords today, with Lib Dem peer Baroness Pinnock describing the issue as "an unresolved crisis of major proportions."
During debate on the Lib Dem amendment to the bill, which would stop the cost of fire safety work like the removal of unsafe cladding from being passed on to leaseholders and tenants, Baroness Kath Pinnock will say:
